This class involves physical and human geography as well has world history.  We will carefully examine some of the following concepts, cultures, time periods, and movements:

- 5 Themes of Georgraphy                                                                 - Asia

- Ancient Civilizations                                                                       - Africa

- World Releigions                                                                            

-Austraila and Oceania                                                                  

Our Text Book...

I DO NOT USE THE TEXT BOOK VERY OFTEN!!!  When we do use the text books we will be using Eastern World and Western World produced by Holt McDougal this year in class.  These books were purchased for our old curriculum.  We will use them sparingly as they fit into the new curriculum.  There are not enough text books to check one out to every student so they are available to to check out as needed.

Lesson Plans...

Go to my calendar page to find what the subjects and plans are for the week.  I try hard to stay ahead of the class by at least a week.  Being a second year teacher I am always learning new things and changing how I do things so it changes a lot but I will do my best to stay ahead at least a week and keep my calendar updated.

Also on the calendar page is where you can find when quizzes and tests will be as well as when projects are due.  I am a big believer in project based learning and we will be doing many projects throughout the year.

 

Late or Missing Work...

Your work is expected to be turned in on time and well done.  If an assignment is turned in late the best score you can earn is 80%.  All quizzes and tests can be made up but must be made up within 2 weeks of the original test or quiz date.  Also if you score lower on the second test that is the score you will receive.

Extra Copies of Assignments...

I provide each student with one copy of an assignment.  If you need another one for whatever reason, you have three options.

  1. Go onto the classroom website and print another one off.
  2. Hand copy the assignment from the master copy. 
  3. Pay me cents for another copy.

Absences...

DONT MISS SCHOOL!!!  But if you have to miss school you need to come and see me about the work that you missed.  I am not your babysitter and will not keep track of what you have missed.  You need to take responsibility for the time you missed, come and talk to me, and get what you missed and finish it up in a timely matter (within a week of the missed day).

Cheating/Plagiarism...

Cheating or plagiarism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.  Choosing to cheat or plagiarize will result in an automatic zero on the assignment, quiz, or test.
